8w7, despite the obvious 4 fix. instead of focusing on making himself stand out, his main motive is to put humans down. the reason people see 4 is because he constantly differentiates himself from humans, BUT that comes from his desire to be above them. envy isn't the "leader" type of 8, but his goal is to control how humans think of him and themselves. a 4 would be more focused on themselves and how they feel, but envy is only concerned about the things happening in the external world (which also stems from his Se). that's why he only knew how he truly felt during his death. a 4 would likely be more in tune with his emotions. however, his tritype definitely includes 4w3, as the 4 very much compliments his 8 when it comes to his motives. however, he's still an 8 as he puts his control over humans above his desire to be human.
