Dominant Ne - ever since the start he wasn’t afraid to question beliefs that everyone else seemed to accept blindly. He was very good at putting himself in the shoes of people who were ‘different’ from him and seeing things from other perspectives. He could even empathise with Kira - the task force’s ‘enemy’. Other characters - such as Light’s father - blindly went along with the crowd and agreed that Kira was ‘bad’, without ever trying to see things from the other perspective. The thing about Matsuda is that in one of the first ever scenes he appeared in, he stood against the crowd, questioned pre-existing beliefs, and suggested a completely unmentioned view/perspective. His Fi stood out when he wasn’t afraid to speak out his ’controversial’ beliefs, he didn’t care what the other members in the task force thought. The fact that he could empathise with Kira - someone ‘bad’, a mass murderer - shows how empathetic he is, and Matsuda possesses the natural ability to dig behind the surface easily. He wasn’t afraid to dive deep and question the morality behind things. He wasnt afraid to continuously ask ‘what if’s and take an unconventional approach to things. One of the most passionate characters in the show, he stayed dedicated to the investigation, even when his life was put on the line. He seemed extremely idealistic too, his ideas were great but he didn’t think carefully about whether or not they’d work successfully in real life. Matsuda held the task force together, if you think about it. While the other members were pessimistic and unmotivated, he lifted everyone’s spirits up and suggested many unexplored possibilities and opportunities. He always took an unconventional look at things, unlike the other task force members.
