I like how the consensus went from ISTP to ISTJ to ISTP and the ISTP voters have just said "He hates rules and the government". The MBTI doesn't correlate to political values, at all. You could be an authoritarian Ne dom or a libertarian Si dom, and it would still make sense. The MBTI shouldn't correlate to political beliefs; that's just another unnecessary boundary. Of course, there are certain types that would be more inclined to believe certain political values, but that is not a reason to vote that personality for a character. This has to be my biggest issue, as I have seen barely any ISTP comments whose main focus isn't that he is a libertarian. It feels as if people have to justify him being an ISTP just because he is a libertarian, which is sick in my opinion. Ron's internal code is very SiTeFi heavy. Even though he hates external rules and regulations, he sets some rather strict guidelines for himself. Si works in his preference to do things by the book, Te works in his strict adherence and implementation of his personal guidelines, and Fi makes up the internal code in the first place. His Fi is tertiary because his internal code is extremely Si focused (Wanting things to stay the same, working the same job, living in the same town) and Te focused (Never expressing interest in emotional matters, achievement mindset, being actually effective when he wants to). As he interacts with the other characters and develops, His strict internal code softens up and he introduces Fi elements into his code (giving good advice, trying to understand people's emotions, trying to cultivate emotions of his own). This may seem Fe, but keep in mind that his Fi is what makes up his code in the first place. ISTPs have Fi as their demon, which makes no sense for Ron as his entire personality is centered around his strict internal code. Finally, his Ne is inferior because he's scared of new things outside of his code. One could make the argument of the internal logic model (Ti), but the reason he has stuck with his code for so long is his dominant Si. His mentality is, "It has worked well in the past, so why change it?" If he was a Ti dom, his code would change often, as he would logically, internally adapt to new situations (TiSe literally). The combination of his SiTeFi functions make up his moral code, and therefore, his personality. I also have seen no compelling arguments for his Ni usage. I have seen this series three times over, and I can name no instance or series of instances where he uses Ni. If I missed something in the show or in the comments here, please let me know. In fact, I would be very open to an argument that justifies each of Ron's functions in depth instead of saying "He hates rules, is fiercely independent, and has an internal logical code (Ti over Fi.)" This is an otherwise interesting debate, and in the end just shows how great of a character he is.
