It's interesting how Dan Harmon's four functions are so clearly evident in the premise/relationships within the show. Each of the four types within Harmon's "function group" of Ti-Fe/Si-Ne are represented (Abed - INTP, Jeff - ENTP, Annie - ISFJ, Shirley - ESFJ), and it seems like the level with which he empathizes with each of them is reflected in the extent to which he himself uses their dominant function. On the other hand, it's the two "friend no one likes" characters (Britta and Pierce) who have dominant functions that aren't in Harmon's stack.
