Leto is clearly a 1, not an 8! And certainly not a 8w7 or 7w8! Where's the lust or gluttony? Where's the fear of being deprived or controlled? Not every commanding, authoritarian character is an 8! 8 anger is reactive, protective, and self satisfying. The obsessive need to control people and make things the way they "should be" is all type 1. Despite the stereotypes not every 1 is a stuck up moralizer, they can be very aggressive and intimidating. The key difference is that they are doing it for a sense of higher purpose (type 1 is closer to the heart triad's need for validation) rather than as a way to fend off danger and get their needs met (type 8 is closer to the head triad's need for security). Leto has got to be one of the most anti gluttonous characters in all of fiction! His whole thing is that he withstood terrible pain, misery, isolation, and deprivation from all human pleasures for more than 3000 years for the sake of saving humanity! If that isn't a strict, self controlling, higher purpose focused core motivation I don't know what is! It doesn't get any further from gluttony and lust than that. You're literally just voting him 8w7 because he's bossy and mean. He has the 1's martyr complex, the need to mold the universe to his ideals, and the tendency to lecture everyone he meets on his worldview. Very much a SO 1 cold teacher archetype. He's intent on ultimately dismantling his own power as well. He doesn't like being a tyrant, he's only doing it to teach humanity a lesson about never trusting tyrants again. Once his work is finished, he's happy to have humanity rise up and kill him. The principle is always more important to him than his personal power or needs. I can see why people might see 5 for him but while he is very intellectual, I just don't see him being driven by fear the way the head types are. He's confident, action oriented, full of anger. Very much a gut type. His heart fix has got to be 4. It doesn't come up very often, but he's really goddamn lonely and fixated on his suffering. When asked what the worst part about becoming a gross worm dude was, he says that it was never being able to just exist as a normal person. He's forever the outsider, and he considers that both his greatest gift and his worst misery. He's a tyrant in the streets, jealous sadboi in the sheets.
