Aaliyah was very concerned with the business side of things and her future and longevity. She was thinking this way as far as back as when she was a teenager. She wasn't like other young "you can lead me" industry puppets of the time but had a lot of control over her image and career, in general. She chose to pursue acting and make big fashion deals instead of strictly sing; even though all of her albums were successful and she had a good professional reputation as a singer-dancer/music performer without needing to go into other avenues to prove herself. She chose her own production team at fifteen and ended up picking the absolutely best people out there (Timbaland and Missy blowing their competitors out the water in mid 90s-00s within the arena of R&B & R&B-Pop & Hip-Hip adjacent acts). I don't think unvalued Ni really makes sense for her, considering how far-sighted and serious about her future she was. I see Aaliyah as a clear Gamma introvert and definitely Fi base, with valued Te (seek), activating Ni, creative (cautious) Se, and Si demonstrative. And each ESI dichotomy fits her perfectly: constructivist, static, ethical, rational, result—and undoubtedly defined by her result Fi. What she says in the interview - "Teen People's 21 Hottest Stars Under 21 (1999)" really screams ESI to me. Not at all SEI, an Si base Ne-seek Alpha introvert, perceiving type. Take the following quote and try and apply it to SEI and then ESI and do the same with her other interviews. She had a kind and gentle demeanor but her thinking/cognition lines up more with valued Fi-Ni than Si: "I'm a very mysterious person and when you first meet me, I don't really think you know where I'm coming from. It takes a while to get to know me. I think it's because I take my time to know people. You're going to get someone who's affable, who's nice, but you're not going to get the whole picture of Aaliyah--for a while."

Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001) was an American singer, actress, and model. She has been credited for helping to redefine contemporary R&B, pop and hip hop, earning her the nicknames the "Princess of R&B" and "Queen of Urban Pop". She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 10, she appeared on the television show Star Search and performed in concert alongside Gladys Knight.
