Ruby is all about pleasing others, especially Dia, no matter what that means for herself. Rather than remaining true to her want to be an idol, she listened to her sister until those that she was confident with gave her the push she needed to do something for herself once. I'm not saying that Fi users are not compassionate and self-sacrificing, but Ruby denied who she was to make her sister happy. She's also a peacekeeper and often mediates conflicts between the girls. I believe she has strong Fe which prevents her from putting herself first when she needs to.
