I get why many people think he is an INTJ but he comes of more of an INTP to be honest especially in the manga. He always seems to think of every possible scenario that could happen like when they were talking about the secret room he said a variety of things that could go wrong if they went in there and then said that it's not logical to risk it so much. Also at the start he seems to think that the only way to run away and survive is if they leave everyone behind. This could be easily seen as Ni but he had been thinking of ways to get away since he figured what was going on. It could also mean that after he analysed every possible way he thought that this was the only option which many INTPs do. And later in the manga even though he thinks that Norman's plan is perfect and most likely to succeed he still left his options open and followed emma because there could be indeed another way of solving this. Krone also said that Ray makes quick decisions but also gives up on them pretty quick which is a very Ne thing to do. Ray also seems to be quite suspicious about anything and doesn't believe it unless it makes sense for him or is proven in front of him which is his Ti. For example when emma first showed them about William Minerva Ray said that he could also be dead or an eneny. He also said that he doesn't like studying and only did it to survive but he does like reading fantasy books. Ti users learn only what they find interesting even if it doesn't help them like studying.
