ISTJ. (With explanations of cognitive stack) Apologies if I got anything wrong. I’d be embarrassing if I’ve mischaracterise one of my favourite characters (I have a love hate relationship with Orter 😭😭😭) (MANGA SPOILERS) Si: His methodologies screams conservatism — doesn’t do it for inherently bad reasons, it’s just because he doesn’t trust any other methodologies of justice and order. (bear minimum Orter era + Alex incident) Te: Orter focuses on common consensuses — since the state is responsible to uphold the voice of all, he enacts his duty through enforcements of fundamentals. You can’t satisfy all beliefs or needs so the most efficient way to uplift as many voices is just to use the existing rules to maintain such justice (since he doesn't prioritise the need to understand or learn an array of beliefs) Fi: I’m not sure if he already had prejudiced views towards no-magics before Alex’s incident, but it seems that his views on them being “anomalies”, “flaws” is quite a personal judgement — derived from his personal belief that those who are not blessed are doomed to fail and have no inherent purpose in society, WHICH ISN'T JUST TARGETTED TOWARDS NO MAGICS, its just anyone WHO HE DEEMS AS WEAK/INSIGNIFICANT. He truly doesn’t see any value in them, he doesn’t see how they can contribute to society — society as a whole rejects no magics, but Orter himself just dislikes people WHO HE DEEMS AS WEAK/UNBLESSED. Ne: Since this is an inferior function, we don't see if much. But i think the scene where he gives Mash two conditions — shows him creating a back up plan/opening for him to enforcing the rules some way or another. (Ne ideation) He acknowledges that Mash's presence could be a useful asset to narrow down their hunt for Innocent Zero (Te-Ne rationale and ideation) but still prioritises the enforcement of rules (Si reliance). Eclipse Arc, the scene where he separates himself from the group to get Mash treated — everyone was concerned about not being able to leave — but Orter quickly segregated himself from them to deal with Innocent Zero’s reinforcements, giving the rest of the team the opening to leave. (Ne ideation since Si isn’t working) In this moment, Orter isn’t able to rely on past/familiar methodologies to resolve a problem, so he takes a leap of faith, putting himself at risk just to create an opening to save the world — aka giving the team the opportunity to leave with Mash. Even if he doesn’t like Mash for his personal values/due to governance rules, he adapts in the moment, knowing that his conservatism will not ensure a chance to save the world. And lastly,… his innovative approach to his attire… adding velcros so that it stays in place 😭😭😭😭!!! He’s so silly HAHAHAHA
