The other day I was thinking about how to distinguish an ENFJ from an INFJ, since they have the same functions in a very similar order. So I thought of Marinette, who I believe to be an ENFJ, and contrasted her with Luka, whilst sharing my thoughts with one of my INFJ friends to see if my observations were at least mildly accurate. I'm not going to hold my analysis to a very high regard because it's really just a pattern I noticed with these specific two fictional characters, but I still think it's interesting enough and I'm curious about what other people might think of this. Now, starting with Marinette, who is Fe dominant, I noticed she, for the most part, is quicker to make the decision to intervene when she notices someone else might have a problem or when people need her in general (as in, the citizens of Paris needing her protection, for example). Her Fe makes her feel the need to jump into action and take it upon herself to restore harmony in the "group" again, and she often doesn't really think it through (could allude to inferior Ti). Only after that, she'll use her Ni to devise a plan to help (said plan sometimes turns out to not be the best). As for Luka, he seems to use his Ni first to really analyze the situation and know when to do something and what to do before actively handing out his help. It's not that he isn't interested in the well-being of others, because he clearly is, but he needs to connect the dots in his head about his observations first, as well as figure out if the other person actually would want any help from him and only then will he take any action. Marinette's attitude is usually something like "Oh you got a problem? Let's fix it together, I'm gonna help!" while Luka just offers support by saying "I'm here for you, whenever you need me.". This was basically what he did in the season 3 finale, he noticed something was off with Marinette, asked if she was okay and then hugged her as she cried while reassuring her that she could be herself with him. My INFJ friend is like this too, they notice when someone else is upset but won't immediately take it upon themself to make it right again. They wait for the person to be ready to open up, calmly listen and then soothe them the best way they can.
