Austin is ISFP/IF(S). Before I leave this site for good I’m gonna repost my IFS/ISFP argument that I made all those months ago. First off, Te is not just about being “smart” and “logical”. It’s not strictly about planning, goal-setting and bottling your emotions. Why can’t a Fi dominant do any of this? They can be extremely cunning and strategic in pursuit of a single goal or vision, although it’s often in service of REVENGE. Fi doms may become immoral and diabolical as a result. This isn’t a result of higher Te at all, but it’s actually inferior Te— the manifestation of the unconscious ego: ➤ “But, wherever the unconscious subject is identified with the ego, the mysterious power of the intensive feeling is also transformed into banal and arrogant ambition, vanity, and petty tyranny.” This is exactly what happens with Austin. At the beginning, he’s actually morally in check, although this intensive feeling eventually transforms into “petty tyranny” as he unleashes hell on Eteled. He still has clearly defined sentiments about the world; what he loves and hates about it. He’s a misanthrope in particular, not because humans are objectively horrible, but because HE thinks they’re bad He became ostracised due to his internal values, which is a hallmark of higher Fi. Now, let’s define what Te is and what it isn’t. As denoted in Jungian theory, Te is about objective judgment; forming judgements, and classifying, labelling and categorising data based off such a universal intellectual formula. Actually, Austin’s frameworks aren’t aligned to the external world. His utmost priority isn’t deriving formulas from the collective, his values come from HIMSELF (Ji>Je), and they’re qualitative rather than quantitative (F>T). He may give off the impression of Te with his cold and cunning facade, but if he had higher Te, this would necessitate a repression of Fi. But Austin obviously prefers Fi over Te. Jung also wrote of Fi: ➤ “A superficial judgment might well be betrayed, by a rather cold and reserved demeanour, into denying all feeling to this type. Such a view, however, would be quite false; the truth is, her feelings are intensive rather than extensive. They develop into the depth.” In truth, Austin was always attuned to his personal values, it’s just that his brashness, which could be owed more to his Se usage, tends to overshadow this. He wanted to create a video game not because he wants to conform to objective measures of what is acceptable, but what he personally desires. The ISTJ consensus is atrocious also because HE HAS NO SI. Introverted sensing is about adjusting reality to inner sensory preferences— it’s about homeostasis, giving meaning to tangible objects; it has a soothing quality. How would you reconcile that with someone as dogmatic and imposing as Austin…? He has Se over Si as well. He calls himself “Corrupted Mii” literally because they are a corrupted Mii? Everything about this radiates Fi and Se, especially where he says he’s “done being manipulated by this world”. He doesn’t care as long as he can enjoy his last living moments and seek out “fresh sensations”. Austin also mentions how punishing Henry made him so happy he “could jump” and that his “life could be over right now and [he] wouldn’t have any regrets”, representing an unhealthy version of Se. Austin Sanders is the main protagonist in Corrupted Data: Revived, and is briefly mentioned by Mike in Episode 2 of WDY: Aftermath. Austin can often come off as extremely egocentric. He often talks about the world belonging to him, and feeling as it was made for him, and is shown to have a strong distaste for other humans. However, it is easy for him to act more friendly around people to keep up an appearance, as he often does at the Nintendo offices.
