Amy Rose is not an ESFJ. “Girly” girls are not always ESFJs, that is a stereotype. She is an ENFJ, because she uses Ni-Se instead of Si-Ne. I’ll explain why. Since Amy’s would-be relationship with Sonic is central to her character, I’ll focus on how her Ni-Se manifests there. Si-Ne thinks divergently, and Ni-Se thinks convergently. Si-Ne EXPANDS and Ni-Se CONCLUDES. Here's what Amy is NOT. A Si-Ne user stores a detailed model of an event, notes their subjective experience of it, and then branches off into possibilities from there. Their thinking is highly contextual, meaning a Si-Ne user views the world in pieces, rather than as a whole. Here is how Amy might function if she was an ESFJ. I’ve noticed that every time I try to show Sonic I love him, he runs away from me (Si model). That really hurts! (Si subjective experience). I should think about this (Ne expansion). “Why doesn’t Sonic love me back?” “What can I do to convince Sonic to love me?” “What is going on in Sonic’s life that makes him not want to marry me?” “What do our friends think about us getting together?” “Speaking of which, what would our life be like if did get married? Where would we live? How often would I get to see him? Would we have children?” Take note of the fact that each question has hundreds of different possible answers, because Ne opens up the thought process. You’ll also notice that this is a fairly grounded way to think about the relationship. That’s because a skilled Si user has accurate models of experiences and a good understanding of how those experiences made them feel. That’s why ESFJ’s are often thought of as down-to-earth. Nobody in their right mind would call Amy “down-to-earth.” She doesn’t ask herself these questions. Ever. She has a singular conception of her relationship with Sonic that lacks nuance. She does not think expansively. In her mind, they are going to be together, plain and simple. She could respond to these questions, and all of her answers would serve the ultimate conclusion that they will be a couple. “Why doesn’t Sonic love me? Well, actually, he does. He just hasn’t realized it yet.” “What can I do to convince Sonic to love me? Duh, the same thing I’ve always done. Just keep chasing him and he’ll give in eventually.” “What is going on in Sonic’s life that makes it so he doesn’t want to marry me? I don’t know! If he just listened to me for a moment, he’ll finally realize it!” “What do our friends think about this? Obviously, they think we should be together too! How couldn’t they? If they don’t, it’s just because they don’t understand Sonic the way I do.” You’ll also notice that she doesn’t think about the details of married life with Sonic. She’s more interested in the idea itself, rather than what comes after it. That would be of extreme interest to an ESFJ, because it appeals to their eye for detail (Si) and fascination with possibilities (Ne). Now let’s move on to Ni-Se. Ni-Se users take in sensory information indiscriminately, and then boil it down into abstract insights. Their thought process is less contextual than a Si-Ne user, and they view everything as an interconnected whole. A good Ni insight says something about the entire world or the human condition. Despite their complexity, you can often sum them up in a sentence or two. Pretty much every old saying you can think of is Ni, e.g. “there can be no light without darkness.” When an Ni user formulates their insight, they store it away internally. Not only can they use it to predict the future, but all information they gather with Se will be filtered through and interpreted by their Ni mottos. They’ll look for physical manifestations of their insight around them, and that’s predominantly how they navigate through life. For example, they might have a really terrible day (Se) but think “there can be no light without darkness” and conclude that there will be better days in the future (Ni). Here's how Amy really thinks. This blue hedgehog named Sonic saved my life! He’s adventurous, free-spirited, and dedicates his life to helping others and defeating bad guys. My tarot cards tell me there is romance in our future (Se info). This can only mean one thing: Sonic and I are destined to be together (Ni conclusion). Amy declares her ultimate insight in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. "Fated lovers are always drawn together." Amy’s obsession with marrying Sonic would be impossible without Ni. She talks about it like it's an immutable fact of life. In her mind, it's not a goal. It's an inevitable fate. Since she doesn’t use Ne, she doesn’t see multiple paths in her future. There’s just one - marrying Sonic! Because she doesn’t use Si (it’s her blind spot and worst function), individual instances of Sonic’s disinterest mean absolutely nothing to her. They disagree with her Ni conclusion, so she puts no stock in them. What's one little lover's spat compared to romantic destiny?
биография
An energetic pink hedgehog. An early version of her appeared in the 1992-1994 manga series; she then went on to be rescued by Sonic in Sonic CD. Initially she was a fan of Sonic's who she desperately wanted to meet, but their meeting was soon cut short with the arrival of Dr. Eggman and his new creation, Metal Sonic. Metal kidnapped Amy and Sonic had to save her and stop Eggman's plan of using Little Planet to mess with the timeline. After Eggman's defeat, Amy fell completely in love with Sonic and has made numerous attempts to start a relationship with him (even marry him, becoming his wife), often getting mixed up in his adventures as a result, much to his chagrin. Amy has a very sweet and understanding personality. She always tries her best to understand and see the best in people and help them in any way she can and is very protective of her friends. Underneath her sweetness lies quite the temper however, something that even Sonic isn't immune to being on the receiving end of.
