As always, there are votes confusing ENFPs with ESFJs (and vice versa) all over this site, and I understand that. But, as a Ne-Fi, I immediately knew Zoey was an ENFP too, but not for the obvious reasons — her eccentric, overly lively, glamorous personality, etc.—that's just a very basic and shallow detail. The greatest proof of this is in the BRILLIANT maturation of Te-Si throughout the film, and also in the restructuring of her auxiliary Fi. Zoey's greatest fears are: being inadequate, not having her eccentricity understood (which in the film, is expressed through her songwriting, which is clearly the most important thing to her), and displeasing others because of it. When the Ne-Fi axis is misused, the ENFP becomes (instead of an explorer of possibilities aligned with their values) a people-pleaser—one who agrees with everything and masks their insecurities with an excess of negative Ne, or the opposite, one who feels "too eccentric" and therefore way out of the ordinary. Early in the movie, the guy who gives Rumi her throat medicine says this to Zoey: "I know! You want to please too much so you don't feel alone," something like that. Those who voted for ESFJ might probably use this as an excuse for Fe, but someone with strong, poorly channeled Fi can also fall prey to this (like an ENFP, I'm right to say!), especially if they have a 2w3 enneagram like her. But here's the best part of this character for me: At one point in the film, she tells Rumi and Mira that by "joining the group, she felt understood in her thoughts and eccentric personality, as well as in her lyrics, and that she gained a clear purpose to follow and a path to pursue." In other words: the music and her friends made her feel like herself without judgment (re-adjusted Fi), and because of that, she became ambitious to pursue her dreams (Te) and created her own path with more focus (Si). At the end of the film, she not only managed to overcome her cognitive weaknesses, but also the greatest challenge for someone with an E2. -------- I really love this character; she's kind, funny, and engaging, but she's also ambitious and focused on her dreams — that's what being an ENFP is all about! She has more depth to her story and personality than we're typically portrayed in fiction. I'm SO PROUD of that! 🤌✨
