Pre-revamped Gusion: textbook ISTP Revamped Gusion: Still ISTP, but with stronger Fe development. I hate that new Gusion is known as "Aamon's rebellious lil bro who constantly needs help from his brother" or "Justin Bieber wannabe." I actually prefer the revamped version cuz he's more complex and realistic. I think I've watched and read everything about him from trailers, official lore, comics/side stories, and here's what I've concluded so far: Ti: The elders want him to focus on practicing magic, even though he hates memorizing spells. Gusion invents his own system by developing his combat style. In Fate Deniers cinematic trailer on Youtube, we can see that his daggers are conjured from his mana, not some mundane piece of blade he carries around (which makes the holster around his hip kinda... useless. But I thought it fit him aesthetically). Basically his fighting style confuses the elders: they sneer at him for using "lowly" blades, when his daggers actually materialize from his core magic. Se: I noticed that Gusion would read the environment in real time and act quickly to survive. Check out Gusion and Lesley's comic "The Chase." He tricked Lesley when she tied him up. And when they were stuck in a dark cave, it was Gusion who started a fire using stones and found the cave's exit after he noticed there was an airflow from the wavering flame. Also in Aamon's cinematic trailer, he used two assassins (if I'm not mistaken) hired by the elders as footholds when he fell from that dome (I've no idea what kind of building is that) so he could land safely. He didn't panic and adjust instantly. Ni: Revamped Gusion's goal is to remove the family curse and change his fate. His vision becomes more personal and existential, while old Gusion wanted external recognition. He wanted the entire Land of Dawn to know his name. Fe: This is the biggest change in revamped Gusion. His old version was emotionally detached and left the family without thinking what others felt. New Gusion though, he's more... human. He felt guilty after accidentally cut Aamon's jaw, he didn't dare to bring any sharp objects near his bro anymore. And in the chinese lore, he actually trained at night to avoid hurting others. Also, it's mentioned that he's the only upper-class student who'd talk with the servants, making him likeable by others despite his mischief. And let's not pretend that he's not affected deeply when he thought Aamon had betrayed him. Pre-revamp Gusion would be "lol idc I'm leaving this family." One fact that not many people know: Gusion once protected Cecilion and Carmilla when those two tried to escape (source: https://play.mobilelegends.com/lore/albumitem/1/1/en). He doesnt care about his family's motto "Fear over Love." I think Moonton made this version of Gusion cuz once Aamon was introduced, Gusion stopped being a standalone power fantasy and became part of a tragic sibling narrative. They redesigned him to communicate guilt, anger, hurt, defiance, and youth (notice how revamped Gusion has softer facial features?) There, I wish I had this much dedication to finish my own skripsi.
