In his book Muqaddimah, Ibn Khaldun mostly, tho not solely, relies on his own understanding of how and why systems, structures, and societies function. While traces of Te are present, they are not as dominant as Ti. In his Ilm al-Umran in the Muqaddimah, he builds an entirely original science of human civilization. It is not a repetition of historical facts, but a framework grounded in foundational principles from his understanding. He even calls this a new science, one that he created independently of traditional historiography. Khaldun also argues that to determine whether a historical report or 'fact' is true, one must assess its rational possibility or impossibility, if it makes rational and logical sense. Of course, he uses Te, but not as his primary method. Rather Te comes after his Ne- Ti process to test or verify the principles he has already reasoned through. Many people carry a bias against Ti, assuming that it cannot engage with facts or data at all. that’s simply not true. Even tho I am a Ti person I appeal to data and facts to check the validity of my arguments and even of that data. When a Ti-based theory aligns with reality, people say, “Oh, that was just Te all along”. Te tends to collect facts and data, measure outcomes, and draw conclusions directly from observations or generally accepted facts. Khaldun goes deeper, he questions those facts and investigates the underlying causes and effects to build his own frameworks for understanding, much like what Jung described. But, some people get fixated on one detail and miss the bigger picture.
