Nah, on average, I definitely get along better with ISFJs than with ISFPs. It goes deeper than just assuming the opposite type's got the worst compatiblity with you. In my opinion, in general the type that shares the last letter with you only is the least compatible on average. Explaining it using my type (ENTP) as an example: ISFJs may have completely opposite preferences from ENTPs but they still have that Fe-Ti in the middle like we do. They also lead with a perception function and are on the Si-Ne axis. While ENTP's Si is inferior and for ISFJ their Ne is inferior, those two functions are still in their valued cognitive stack and they can actually balance out and improve each other. ISFPs lead with a judging function (Fi; it's basically their way of breathing) ENTPs are blind to. I don't focus that much on how much something aligns with my subjective feelings/values or what my favorites are. Tertiary Fe is way more collective and less deep/authentic than dominant Fi which makes some ISFPs and Fi Doms in general think of me as faking/overdoing emotions and not "staying true to myself". On the other hand, ISFPs are Ne blind; the type of abstract information I focus on, imagining and talking a lot about possibilities is something they tend to find pointless. Some ISFPs make me feel like I'm a verbose clown who needs to become more down to earth. There can be some potential for these two types to get along, everyone is different, but in general ISFPs and ENTPs speak two different languages.
