I look at the comments on this page discussing very flimsy reasoning for why he is a "J" or "P" and I think to myself, is this amateur hour? Anyway, based on what has been shown of him thus far I think he is most likely to be NiTe INTJ. Firstly, to address claims in the other comments. Spinel has indeed been shown to be a creative tactician, though this does not make him an NTP. His tactical approach is not based around any sort of exploration of abstract possibilities, or for that matter being open to many abstract possibilities. He is instead shown to be very linearly focused on gathering the resources/info/data etc. he needs in the most efficient way possible, without giving away more than he needs to - which to me strikes me as strong Te with either Ni or Si, and I will elaborate on why I believe Ni/Se to be the case. Spinel, from what I have seen so far from him, does not ruminate on sensory details very often, if at all. What he does do however, is formulate a more abstract idea of how things will play out based on observations of his environment (he somewhat monologues about this himself at the end of episode 12), and use that to create traps/diversions that aid in going after his singular end goal (using Magneton to cause electrical disruptions and trying to ambush Friede, for example). He is typically rather cautious when interacting with the physical environment though, in line with having inferior Se - he is only really willing to deal with it once he's gathered enough data to not be caught off guard or surprised, which he shows when he's willing to go to Liko for the pendant directly after causing other distractions. I also would suggest another sign of Ni is his rather single-minded curiosity of the pendant, he becomes somewhat fixated on it after his plan fails and then proceeds to hide information and keep things mostly to himself. Whilst this is somewhat a pragmatic choice, I think there is something to be said for the fact that Spinel pretty much never bounces abstract ideas off an external source (whether that be other people or other means), he CONSTANTLY deals with it in an entirely internal way which absolutely strikes me as Ni over Ne. My assumption is that he's also an enneagram 5, he seems to deal with everything by withdrawing into himself in an intellectual way (his strategic planning of how to deal with external factors, commanding his pokemon from an external location). I could see him fitting aspects of the so5 and sp5 archetypes so I'll probably make my decision on that as the series progresses.
