Picking up and responding to other people's feelings, and most importantly: sharing your own in order to relate with other people. (This is more obvious when she literally changes who she is to be liked by Oliver. And as her character develops, she learns to be herself instead of bending over to cater to what she believes other people will like). Si > Ne because the actual definition of Ne is that it's an abstract function that notices/creates connections between many things. This is the function known for ingenuity/novelty/creative problem solving. Ne doesn't come naturally to Shelley. Her entire life is basically a rut of stereotypes.
