Can someone explain the INFP votes? I see very little, if at all, Fi and Ne. Are people voting INFP just because she's stereotypically quiet like one? I think the ISFJ votes make more sense, but I'm not certain because there must be some reason why so many have voted INFP over ISFJ. If she was an Fi user, you'd have seen far more individualism, in terms of standing up for what she believes in. Obviously that isn't to say that Fe users don't believe in anything, but Fi users are literally notorious and defined by the decision making process governed by their own moral compass, values and principles. In a lot of the scenes she is in, she is simply just trying to be, let's call it simply, dutiful. Sherlock needs to examine a body, Molly is there to provide that. The way she provides is quite stereotypical actually, if we were to assume she's ISFJ. In the same way John does, she's simply just there for Sherlock no matter what. The way she speaks is quite straightforward SF talk in the first episode, where Sherlock is examining a dead body and asked how fresh. She replies with 'just in, 67 natural causes, used to work here, I knew him, he was nice'. Clear feeler, because she talks about the dead body and how she related to them and how she felt about him. The important bit to consider is how she perceived that deadbody. I see Si - she stated clear detailed facts and she drew from her experiences about the man. Considering the information about the man being nice isn't relevant or something Sherlock would care about, it is a good indication for SF communication, particularly with Si. The debate could still be open between INFP Fi-Si or ISFJ Si-Fe because, giving them the benefit of the doubt, any type could talk using SF communication styles and INFPs have tertiary Si. When Sherlock mentions her lipstick, she removed it, which appears to be more of an Fe decision rather than Fi. I'd have argued that an Fi user would have stuck more to their decision if they had liked it, whereas an Fe user would be more likely to alter their minds based on the opinions of their peers. However, this could be circumstantial, as an Fi user could end up feeling different about it and thus had an adverse effect on their perception of their lipstick. So something that would support the ISFJ argument would be the fact that she was wearing lipstick and it was something Sherlock noticed. Molly said it is to 'freshen it up a bit', which suggests changing things from the norm, something evidently different from what Molly conventionally does. This suggests inf Ne. When Sherlock said "Jim from IT" was gay, Molly straight away denied that claim. I'd have thought if she was an Ne user, she would at least entertained the idea and asked why Sherlock thought that. Instead, Molly appeared to stick to what she knows as an Si user and replied with 'he is not gay' and she appeared to be adamant with that belief. It took concrete evidence, i.e. leaving his number for sherlock, for Molly to even begin believing Sherlock, in the same way John didn't believe Sherlock at first, who we know to be an accepted ISFJ in the PDB community. When Sherlock was hitting the corpse to see if it bruised, it seemed like Molly's little joke about 'having a bad day' showed some Ne. However, in the Christmas episode, Sherlock tells Molly not to make jokes, which suggests she doesn't make many good ones, which could suggest inf Ne, but I am grasping a little there. I think Molly is Fi blind as she seems to struggle to manage her own emotions. She is good at catering for the group or mostly Sherlock, at least. Considering she didn't know how to react and looked awkward when Sherlock complimented her about her hair (even if it was manipulation from Sherlock). At Christmas when Molly turned up, I saw quite stereotypical Fe friendliness. She asked how Mrs. Hudson's hip was, clearly showing she remembered about her, suggesting Si. She said she didn't expect Greg to be there. Again Si. When Sherlock was horrible, she was Fe. She didn't make a fuss or even leave. I would have thought an Fi user would have probably left or gone away to deal with what had happened. Instead, she stuck around to keep group harmony, ie Fe. In one of the episodes they talk about how Molly 'sees' Sherlock and understands how he is in pain when others don't. To me that is clear Fe where there is very strong emotional understanding of others. It's also quite perceptive, which suggests sensing. So for an Si-Ne argument, it suggests Si>Ne. Generally speaking, I saw very little Ne used by Molly throughout the whole series. I can see a potential argument for either Fi or Fe, but my opinion leans towards more Fe, but the Si is strong and the Ne isn't, which suggests ISFJ over INFP.
