I believe him to be an Fi user; he never talks about his feelings at all, not to his son, not to his sister, not to his friend, even though he is really suffering because of his wife's death. He rather withdraws and gets depressed. But Te is higher than Fi, since he never judges things based on gut feeling but always on a scientifical, fact-oriented basis. And I would think Si rather than Ni, for he does not trust the prophecy at first and approaches things based on his personal knowledge, perceiving the world through experiences. Also, he is almost exclusively stuck in the past.
