Kat is said to have some form of survival instinct by which he can always discover ways to survive, which I think is best described with Ti-Se. I wouldn't say that he's an ESTP since he doesn't dismiss high subjectivity on topics like the war and creates a rough opinion on everything, which doesn't seem like Inf. Ni. Kat also cares more about people close to him like Paul and the others and only feels a strong tie to them, while unity and honor and other more emotional constructs barely matter to him. He is basically good at everything he does, as is stated by Paul, but remains a simple craftsman, which seems like the kind of stereotypical carefreenes of the ISTP.
