𝑅𝑜𝒹𝓎 𝐿𝒶𝓂𝑜𝓇𝑒𝑒 𝐸𝒮𝐹𝒥 𝒶𝓇𝑔𝓊𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉!! Okay, I agree his Si is... questionable after finally playing the game myself. However, I failed to see how his Ne would override it at the same time. He... immediately assumes Manon is just busy when she doesn’t answer the phone. An Ne-dom would probably instead think things like, "What if she's really sick? Or hurt? Maybe she's dead? Or she got kidnapped? Maybe she moved far away? Maybe her phone is broken? MAYBE SHE GOT ABDUCTED BY ALIENS?" If Rody is an ENFP, why do we almost never see him expanding upon the wildest abstract possibilities and ideas? He just thought, "Oh, maybe she's busy." And that's the end of it. He just makes small talk with people, should you make him interact with them. The conversation rarely goes any deeper than that. If he's an Ne-dom, why is he discussing perfectly normal questions like, "What's your favorite food?" "Do you like working here?" "Are you single?" Sure, we do see him occasionally philosophizing about things, like wondering if this is all Vince wants to do with his life. Rody seems to evaluate things mostly in terms of external sentiment. His favorite food is whatever his girlfriend likes. The most major part of his character is how he never thinks of or takes care of himself, the whole reason Manon broke up with him. The game happens because he thought, "I'll get my life in order and then she'll want to be with me for sure!" However, his Ne is higher than I thought! Especially how we hear that he likes pretending his bike is a horse on the way to work, and how he somehow thought that riding the bike faster would make him dry off faster. These two parts seem to make him having higher Ne possibly plausible. There is also evidence for his Si not being the best at the same time, I’ll give you that. He merely skimmed the interview, he rarely holds the same job for long, and he has a lot of unfinished love songs and letters for Manon. The rest of the state of his apartment we can attribute to him being Unstructured in Big 5, and just generally not caring much about his own well-being. As I saw another user in the comments point out, Rody specifically says something to Vince when asking if he’s single that seemed to indicate he does NOT have inferior Si. He tells him that there is no point in having your life together if you don’t have a wife and kids to settle down and share it with. What about this seems to not scream Fe and at least some Si? An Si-inferior would be terrified of that sort of stability. And there’s this emphasis on being part of a collective family to share your life with (Fe). Rody also just goes along with being the waiter at the dinner party without any protest. When you think about it, although it’s not explicitly stated, Rody might have just gone along with it due to not wanting to embarrass Vince, and thinking he could just ask him about Manon later. An ENFP could still do this, but… I genuinely don’t see NeFi in his decision-making process first at all. He just immediately decided to go with what would be best for everyone. Now, I’m not trying to say Fi-users can’t prioritize others in their decision-making. But the entire focal point of Rody’s character was how he always sacrificed for Manon and never thought of himself. There is nothing that points to Rody having any personal values unique to him. He doesn’t even seem to really know his own preferences about things. If Rody is an ENFP, then why do we not see him daydreaming and theorizing frequently? Why do we not see him engaging in numerous hobbies throughout his apartment? He just looks over things, calls his girlfriend, and goes to sleep. It doesn’t seem like he really does anything outside of his job. Almost every time you inspect the objects in his apartment, he mentions Manon. The love letters and songs were for Manon. The CDs were for Manon. The money he was earning at his job was mostly for Manon. Getting his job in the first place was for Manon. Rody doesn’t even really seem like he has hobbies for the most part. The fact he’s comically terrible at cooking doesn’t mean low Si. There is nothing in the game that implies it’s because he’s terrible at memorization, or following steps, or anything of an Si-related nature. It’s just his heavily overexaggerated character quirk. He somehow manages to fail in ways that are completely impossible. Such as making a PB&J sandwich, and there only being charcoal left, or somehow failing at making… cereal? In any case, it seems like Rody might be getting mistyped either due to intuitive bias, him not being your typical ESFJ stereotypically, or his character simply not being looked into deeply enough. I won’t deny there is evidence for him having some Ne, and evidence for his Si not being the greatest. That is why I concluded his stack is FeNeSiTi. If you have a good argument for why you think he’s an ENFP, please let me know! I would love to hear your perspective!!
