Why Hiccup is a great example of a healthy INTP: Hiccup was able to use his healthy dominant Ti to question the logic behind the Vikings’ known social values on dragons, the social consensus that dragons are rogue, murderous creatures that should be attacked. He followed his internal logic (Ti) and his ability to stray away from traditional ideas/ways (Ne) to challenge the ‘facts’ that Berk teaches (from authoritative figures + community to Berk’s ‘informative’ books on dragons). He gradually prioritized this internal logic over any societal benefits he may’ve received for following the crowd and killing dragons, including the approval of his father Stoic. Hiccup is the strongest viking of them all despite being scrawny and weak for his value lies in his brain rather than his brawn, as shown through his strong and healthy Ti’s problem-solving and observational skills. Hiccup used this function to to find out more about dragons through observing Toothless in order to succeed in the training arena in his own, unconventional (Ne) way - Observing how Toothless liked rolling in grass + being scratched on the nose > Then applying these logical deductions through taming dragons with grass and nose scratches in the arena instead of following what the other trainees did (fighting with weapons). He also used his Ti/Ne skills to innovate, creating new inventions like the dragon weapon contraption in the beginning of the movie as well as Toothless’ tail. The encouragement of Hiccup’s Ti/Ne use is also symbolically shown as Hiccup throws away his physical guide (letting go of rules, standards, tradition) and is only then able to successfully fly with Toothless in sync (hence the combination of both Toothless’ and Hiccup’s musical motifs in the soundtrack ‘Test Drive’ that begins the moment they are able to fly together) as Hiccup overcomes the boundaries of unhealthy Si/Fe (stereotypes of dragons, rules for vikings, etc) to truly connect with and understand Toothless. (This is all from the first HTTYD movie btw)
Biyografi
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is the main protagonist of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. He is the son of Valka and the late Hooligan chief, Stoick the Vast, thus making him the heir, and later, the chief of the tribe. He is 15 years old in the first film, Dragons: Riders of Berk, and possibly 16 by the end of Dragons: Defenders of Berk, 18 to 20 years old in Dragons: Race to the Edge, 20 years old in How to Train Your Dragon 2, 21 years old in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and 30 in the epilogue and Homecoming. His dragon and best friend, Toothless, is a Night Fury, the rarest and most intelligent of the dragon species. By the end of the franchise, he marries Astrid Hofferson and they eventually have a daughter, Zephyr, and a son, Nuffink.
