Honestly idk why people are so harsh on him. I completely understand why he's a horrible parent, his mindset is fixed, and he doesn't take into account hickups feelings, well barely. I see a lot of my own father in Stoic and tbh he was exactly like this character. He loved me and always wanted the best but only wanted to do things with me that he enjoyed. Majority of the time when he got angry with me it was because he wanted the best, and the love was clear as day, but he failed to try and understand my situation. Stoic didn't want Hickup to be a dragon fighter because he almost lost him as a child, plus he thought he lost his wife, must have been a pretty large blow too his life. Hiccup was the most important thing in his life and it explains why he was so harsh on him, the man had a while village to look after as well, can't blame him for being so short sighted in the first movie. If he truly was a horrible parent he would have nver tried to conversate with hiccup, you can see multiple times he tries to relate to his child and find common ground. I think because stoic didn't understand hiccup very well,he was over joyed at the fact that he could kill dragons, and that they shared something in common. I'm honeslty not sure what I'm tryna say here, I guess I'm part venting and trying to defend Stoic because someone close to me is his almost copy. I find that his intentions towards Hiccup are truly pure, he never really forces hiccup into situations he can't handle, I don't see him abusing him or finding true digust in having a son like Hiccup. and I know what your gonna say, the famous: "Your not my son." line is an obvious example of how wrong i am. And yeah you could say he's a horrible parent just for saying that but I find him saying that almost refreshing. Majority of parents have said something that they regret to their child and you can see how much Stoic does right after. He literally staggers back in shock of what he just said. I find that a truly horrible parent wouldn't have the ability to do so. Stoic would have most likely apologised if the answer to all of his problems wasn't right in front of him. There are far worse ESTJ parents on this app. (And of course some way better) Endeavour from Mha is one example and I don't think I need to explain why. Anyway ths ks for reading this. . uh tangent 😅

Biyografi

Stoick the Vast is Hiccup's father and was the short-tempered chief of the Hairy Hooligan tribe. He hoped his son will mature and become strong enough to be chief himself one day, but feared that he was not suited to the Viking life. Stoick had a large horned helmet (supposedly one half of his wife's breastplate in the film) and is a friend to Gobber the Belch. Stoick the Vast is also the creator of The Viking Song. In the film, he is voiced by Gerard Butler. He was also the deueragonist (behind Toothless), of the first movie and and the tritagonist of the second movie.
