背景
Tornadoes are quite possibly the most spectacular and destructive of all meteorological phenomena. They are taller than skyscrapers and wider than football fields. Despite their size, they can move very fast. Although they’re made of just air and water, their erratic movement and the capricious nature of their destructiveness can at times make them seem to be driven by an inscrutable will of their own beyond the ken of mortal man. The way they twist and writhe as they move adds to this illusion of life. They are surrounded by myths of both the urban and traditional variety.
