Ella gave the Night Star Box to her sister Emma when Queen Halle attacked them, so Queen Halle wouldn't get to the Night Star Box and rule over them. In Balala The Fairies: Finding Melody she had some clues about Melody's disappearance but Rias made Voiceless attack her and she forgot what she was going to say. Then, the fairies had an idea to make her remember what she was going to say again and their plan worked.
