背景
Doug is the gamekeeper of the hunting lodge at Loch Corrin in The Hunting Party. He is rugged both externally and internally, and rarely opens up to anyone. It is revealed throughout the book that Doug had a highly traumatic experience serving in the marines, and even killed someone. Due to this trauma, Doug experiences fugue states, where he has absolutely no recollection of his behavior after the fact. Because of this, he worries that he may have committed the murder without knowing it. Doug's last name is never specified in the book.
