Hector is the shield of Troy. He has no real individuality which is really striking. He is what his city needs him to be. It is said of ESFJ that they are people dissolving themselves into the solution (liquid) of others. I find it to be really true of Hector whose every action, whose whole way of being is to fulfill his country's wishes. The way he dies is very telling of his Fe dom and 1 enneagram. After Achilles is back and soloing the entire trojan army, Hector doesn't goes into Troy's walls at first, thinking "it's my fault, I've overextended, I'd rather die here than face my people". Another trait of his is his SHORT-SIGHTEDNESS (lack of Ni). He overextends in greek's territory despite Polydamas warnings. He wears Achilles armor and weapons despite Patrocleus prophecy. He also doesn't calculate outcomes and consequences well. He doesn't optimize situations (lack of Te). For example his reaction to Patrocleus prophecy of his demise to Achilles hand, is "well maybe achilles is stronger, but who knows what happens on the battlefield, I still got a shot". So stupid. An ESTJ would have been more "reasonable" IMO. His lack of Te is also obvious in dealing with the whole Helen situation. Helen says he has been one of the few nice to her. And I'm pretty sure an ESTJ would have gotten rid of the couple to protect Troy ASAP. There would have been no room for this whole "he's my brother, what can I do". Public interest (Te) would have prevailed, not common sentiment (Fe). Priam being a Fe dom too, he didn't cast out the couple of course. Fe dominance destroyed Troy.

Son of Priam, prince of Troy. Married to Andromache, and has a son named Astyanax. Paris's brother, and a genuine hero. It's just such a shame he was fighting on the wrong side.
