A dark INFJ that isn't a villain. The thing about Julian is, you never really know what he's thinking. He masks everything with a facade of pleasantry. His character intrigues me on so many levels, especially how secretive he is about what he truly thinks about people and situations. He's very calculating and actually harbors a lot of bitterness and resentment toward many characters, particularly those whom he believes have "failed" the family structure and sense of responsibility (like Mark, Uncle Arthur, and Diana). He's quite an angry person, but he bottles it all up because he hates being the unpleasant person in the room. That's a common trait of Fe users and particularly INFJs. He also has many "faces" like masks he chooses to wear (an observation by Emma), and the "normal" Julian is the "nice" one that makes jokes and acts like a parent toward the other Blackthorns. This is all external though and often forced (Fe-Se). It's not who he really wants to be, and it feels stuck in this role that he repeatedly wishes someone else can carry the burden of. Internally, he's intense and very tortured. He's also ruthless, a great example of weaponized Fe by an Ni-Ti type. Julian Blackthorn is a Shadowhunter of the Los Angeles Institute. Julian is stubborn, confident, and does not open up to a lot of people, though he can also be very considerate and thoughtful. He is also a very loving person. Though he is typically gentle, patient, and sweet, he has his limits and is shown to be capable of yelling even at authority when furious, and ruthlessness when the situation calls for it. Despite trying to follow the rules as much as possible, Julian puts his family over everything else.
