Not all Cholerics are 8s. Stop. Although 3s and 8s share a lot of characteristics, the main difference is 3s are image focused, something which Gil Thorpe is. For example, when he was seen by Phil in the gay bar, he got extremely worried about how this would make him look and tried to reverse the situation. An 8 is less concerned with these things, although they might if this puts them in a vulnerable or weak position, which I don't think was the case since he was less worried about this making him come off as weak, but rather, he was ashamed, and shame, being the core emotion of heart triad types (2, 3, 4), would make him a 3.
