celia wants to be accepted by others and necessary to those around her more than anything else. im glad sp blind is obvious. she has a hard time even considering who she is and what she really wants; when she talks with minny after the dinner, she mentions how uncharacteristically she's been acting, and that she doesn't belong in in missouri- this is something sp users would probably notice right away. celia doesn't because she spends all her time trying to be useful to her husband as a housewife and a child bearer, and to hilly as a friend and as a member of her group. celia does want to have exciting and meaningful relationships with others but this comes secondary to her desire to belong and feel needed. her friendship with minny actually balances this out as celia begins to lay roots down and feel less inclined to reach out to everyone and be accepted everywhere.
