(1/2) Oh Minato… my son with the saviour complex… Clear Fe dom, he maps best to an ENFJ. This guy has way too much Fe for it to be tert, I’m confused where Ne votes come from? I’d be interested to read such analysis! *Spoilers ahead Fe “Instead of thinking about my own feelings… I cared more about what the people in front of me were feeling. It’s something I never stopped thinking about.” — 100% the dominant, he lives he BREATHESSS Fe !!! He automatically orients himself to collective values and majority of his judgements and decision-making process are based off that. He’s naturally attuned to the emotional atmosphere of every situation, excels in reading the room & adjusts his behaviour accordingly to how others feel and what they would need in the moment. In majority of the scenes, especially when people confront him, he makes quick judgements like ‘what does this conversation need? what would they need to feel better?’ (Fe). Which is why he’s very good at smoothing over conflicts and confrontations, he knows what the other needs and how to make them feel listened to. He doesn’t think like (Fi)’s ‘what would I value and need from this conversation?’. Natural orientation to Fe is what results in him being so socially adept. “Deep down inside… do you really even have a ‘you’?” “You hold in everything you want to say, or what to feel.” “I want harmony, because I can’t stand the hostility.” — Because he’s always TOO oriented towards what others want, he lacks a stable sense of self inside. His character arc is basically having to learn to find himself again after over-relying on Fe unhealthily his whole life (he eventually crashes out). He dates girls he doesn’t have particularly strong feelings for as long as he’s doesn’t ’dislike’ them, but this always backfires on him. He becomes the ‘perfect boyfriend’ through the motions (Fe-Se), does everything right but girls eventually notice something is off: They see too little of the real him. Because he masks & adapts too much to the other person, all they see is a hollow flawless mirror. Fe is extensive for a reason, it frequently checks in with what the collective needs, how they feel. But when Fe is relied on way too heavily, it gets very poor at checking in on the self’s own personal desires & emotions. It gets to a point he doesn’t even ask himself ‘what do I want…?’ because he’s always adjusting himself for others, and even suppresses his own desires once he does start to fall in love. I think his Fe is also why he struggles at understanding individual differences…? (😭) Like yes he likes approaching outcasted folks, but the struggle is why his friends + those in intimate relationships with him notice the saviour complex better. It feels more like a charity case each time. His confusion comes from ‘Idk I thought I did everything right by collective standards? Who wouldn’t like people helping them?’ (Fe-Ti) It responds to the pattern of extensive needs (he knows people want validation, affection, lightheartedness etc), … it just kinda struggles with the specific needs of each unique individual (ironically, even his own), and this is prominent mainly in his dating life. When girls want something real, not a ‘good boyfriend’ service or performance. It’s also why he struggles to read Koyuki, because she’s walled off and doesn’t act like most of the others. His Se can only read through her stiff body language (which Koyuki is unfortunately, terrible at), confusing his Fe-Ni. His usual Fe-Se tactics & mirrors don’t work on her, so he has to actively get to know her as her own person. The moment he shows interest in her inner world (like her interest in reading) and that he wants her around as she is (despite her quiet introversion) is when her walls start breaking down. He is… Koyuki’s opposite! Koyuki: Knows herself, can’t read others well Minato: Reads others well, doesn’t know himself Se > Ne The Ne votes confuse me cus his Se is wayyy too prominent.. he operates differently from Koyuki. Genuinely interested in how people see Ne dom, I feel like you should be able to explain the dominant if it’s the most ‘obvious’ one…? He has moments of referencing his memories too, but it’s always in a very Se ‘as-is’ way. He remembers things as they are, the way Koyuki or Miki was alone at first. He remembers things very objectively, and what was externally present. It’s always in an observative kind of way; much more different than Si that anchors the perception through subjective sensations from the past. Minato only remembers events as they are. Nothing more. It’s never dictated his present judgements compared to Koyuki. Ni-Se His Ni might seem less visible because it’s an introverted perceiving function, but it is there. To counter Ne, I don’t think his saviour complex in approaching outcasted people is rooted in an interest for people’s potential or possibilities…? He might find satisfaction in seeing them open up, but it seems moreso because of Fe-Ni:
