Due to the death of his entire family, Anthony became a guilt ridden and traumatized bus driver in his later years. He has frequent hallucinations as a result. He is shown to have an interest in paganism and the witch trials that happened in Salem due to the priest of Little Hope, which the player can discover by finding books around the Clarke family home and a book left near the bus. This helps to explain many of the signs of witchcraft he hallucinates throughout the town of Little Hope and why the 1692 flashbacks align with what happened during the Salem Witch Trials. Depending on the player's choices, he can either drown in his past because he blames himself for the death of his family or he can accept the fact that the death of his family was purely an unfortunate accident and leave his guilt behind.
