This is the only acceptable interpretation of Eobard Thawne. I find him genuinely compelling because he's nothing like the whiny, obsessive unstable loser in the comics. He's calm, collected, stoic, and genuinely menacing. He rarely loses his temper and maintains a composed, almost polite demeanor even in defeat. Comic Thawne, by contrast, tends to be defined by neurotic obsession and wounded ego. The animated Flashpoint version is the rare iteration where Thawne feels like a true predator rather than a scorned fanboy. Also, he could be either SO3 or SP7. I lean towards the latter. Just look at him in "Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay". The mask drops and you see something rawer. He explains he used his connection to the Speed Force to literally expand his dying moments into days or weeks, operating in a fog, everything unreal; all just to survive long enough to get the Get Out of Hell Free card. That is pure SP7 survival instinct. He makes alliances (Silver Banshee, Blockbuster, flipping Killer Frost), running schemes inside schemes, always alert to opportunity (tracking Vandal Savage's ship), and the whole goal is ultimately about securing his own afterlife. He's not doing it for image. He's doing it because he refuses to go to Hell. The SP7 "I will never go hungry again" energy, except the scarcity he's fleeing is literal damnation. The manipulativeness, the practical cunning, the surrogate "family" network he builds is literally textbook SP7.
