Her behavior and actions in the 2007 New Warriors comic before she finally accepted to be a part of the team are the epitome of her being Si-Dom and Ne-Inferior, in my opinion. 09/26 Edit: Looking at Sofia's character from her introduction to how she ended up in New Warriors as Renascence is a good example of a Si-Ti loop --> Recovered Fe and Developing Ne. ============== ============== After the events of M-Day, Sofia goes into a Si-Ti loop where she returns to living among non-mutants and blending in rather than standing out, much like she attempted to do when she began living with her dad in the USA to accommodate his rules before social ostracization from others, including him, made her snap and overuse her powers (which itself showcases Si-Fe and Ne collapse). Her aux. function is not completely suppressed, as shown by the constant dreams she has of her mother being alive and of the friendships and romance she formed at Xavier Institute (Si-Fe), but Si-Ti reality kicks in when she always abruptly wakes up powerless, looks at a photograph from her academy days and feels as if that period of her life was from another lifetime, and gets ready to work at a café in NYC. Si-Ti is additionally shown through her initially rejecting the New Warriors’ requests for her to join them by arguing that she has adjusted to her new life. Her Ne-inferior under her loop is shown through her internal logic that, with no powers available, she is no longer linked to the superhero life, literally telling Jubilee that she didn’t know what other choice she had and that even with technological alternatives she cannot be a hero without her wind abilities anymore (Si-Ne > Ni-Se). This is not so different from Sofia, who loves being the “maternal” figure in social groups, offering her position to Prodigy when she fears she is not versatile or objective enough to positively improve and guide the other members, with David succeeding in preventing Sofia from leaving her role by highlighting how her emotional, relationship-driven approach to leadership greatly helps him in executing his more logical, taciturn approach to leadership. This purposefully contrasts with Sofia exiting her role as her father’s long-lost daughter when she is unable to meet his expectations or receive mutual care from him, leading to the conclusion that Sofia evaluates herself through stable external bonds and her positive effect on others over her own personal values and growth (Fe-Ti > Fi-Te). Ne collapse bursts out when she witnesses Longstrike get killed and one of the villains target a child, leaving her position as a bystander in the crowd to enter the fight despite police warnings (Si-Fe). She internally acknowledges that although she no longer possesses her mutant abilities, she is still Wind Dancer, kicking and distracting Scorpio as best she can to buy temporary time for the New Warriors and help the targeted child, thus completely disregarding her established plan to live uninvolved with mutant life despite having no idea how everything will turn out (Ne grip via Si serving Ne). Once she wakes up from the coma she falls into after the battle, recovering inferior Ne and no longer suppressing auxiliary Fe greatly changes Sofia’s outlook, leading to a much more emotionally healthy Sofia returning to her familiar mentor role with other mutants her age (Si-Fe), arguing for ways that depowered mutants can continue being heroes and exclaiming her desire to join the New Warriors using whatever technological means are available to save the day, giving birth to Renascence (Fe-Ne).
