背景
The auditory cortex is the part of the temporal lobe that processes auditory information in humans and many other vertebrates. It is a part of the auditory system, performing basic and higher functions in hearing, such as possible relations to language switching. The auditory cortex is found in the temporal lobe, most of it hidden from view, buried deep within a fissure called the lateral sulcus. Some auditory cortex is visible on the external surface of the brain, however, as it extends to a gyrus called the superior temporal gyrus.
