Tranca Ruas, or Tranca Rua, is a phalanx of exus, spiritual entities present in Umbanda and Quimbanda. He is responsible for the astral cleansing of the ways of the world. Its colors are white, black and red, and it is usually represented with a trident, which over time has made it associated, by members of Christian religions with an evil figure, because they are spirits who work in African-based religions.
