Under the assumption that Se is function that lets one adapt to the physical enviornment, and Ni a function that lets one reach an abstract conclusion, I see that Kyon is likely an ISTP. Even when Kyon desires to see supernatural beings such as an Alien, Time Travelor, or esper, he refuses to even entertain the possibility that Nagato claimed to be an Alien first. This was the case until he actually sees supernatural battle between Asakura and Nagato. Even when Asakura leaped to stab Kyon, he quickly dodged and accepted the cold fact he was about to be murdered. Something that is less likely for INTP who has Se blindspot. Even when Koizumi claimed to be an Esper, Kyon claims he can not accept such claim until he sees it. I see Kyon as "I see it and I will believe it" person who is rather grounded in reality. As for Ni, Kyon funnels hints received from Nagato of "sleeping beauty" into the conclusion that Kyon as a person likes Haruhi, and that is the solution out of Haruhi's creation of the new world. As previously explained, Kyon is not someone who will easily accept new ideas until it is actualized in reality, so it is likely that Kyon has Ne blindspot. Therefore, Kyon would probably have Ni tertiary. Ni tertiary which has Se high on their function, which are either ISFP or ISTP. Ti dom should be somewhat self-explanatory as Kyon constantly seaches to make sense and understand bizarre reality around him. Hence, Kyon is probably ISTP.
