What personality type is Sollux Captor? Sollux Captor is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/sx - 594 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
the issue is that sollux doesn't display much Se nor does he show much Ne, but i believe he's an ISTP who has a preference for Ni, or a balanced tert-aux axis at least. on the other hand i don't really see much, if any, usage of Si from him. his method of looking at situations is through deconstruction and reaching an understanding of the underlying meaning of things, leading to a single interpretation of them. this is basically how he analyses everything happening around him, obsessing over a single conclusion that he's dead set on, in all the warnings he issues. i don't see him objectively looking at possibilities and exploring them equally (which would be Ne), all he does is eliminate what he views as unlikely and then focus on one outcome. you might argue that this is because of his powers, but even so his cognition fits the bill when it comes to future orientation. his intuition is convergent, not divergent. on the other hand he's definitely not an Si user the way i see it. he doesn't have an affinity for storing subjective experiences. he looks at reality concretely as it is to use it as raw data instead of forming a personal impression of it (Se>Si). just because he's creative and not the usual archetype of an Se user (physically active, thrill seeker, risk taker, etc) doesn't really mean much and it's not necessarily proof for Ne. on top of that ISTP 5w6s often have a tendency to look like INTPs on the surface, or at least seem to have a stronger grasp on their Ni which definitely holds true for him.
