What personality type is Mapleshade? Mapleshade is an ENFJ personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - sx/sp - 268 in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
I first thought she was an ENTJ, but her novella gives a clear version of unhealthy Fe in my opinion; very emotionally manipulative, controlling, self-centered, fabricates her own truth. We see Mapleshade has a case of shifting-blame, always making up her own version of what happened and manipulating the story to benefit her side. For example, when Frecklewish asks if Birchface is the father, Mapleshade doesn't seem to even pay attention to the fact she is taking advantage of a grieving woman and sees this as "Starclan giving her an opportunity". When Mapleshade is told that Frecklewish followed her to see if she had left Thunderclan camp, Mapleshade concludes that Frecklewish intentionally watched her kits drown and so she must pay. She often uses her strong awareness of emotions in order to exploit others and get what she wants, I think we can see that in her relationship with Frecklewish, Crookedstar and even Goosefeather. Obviously being manipulative is not something limited only to unhealthy Fe, but I believe Mapleshade is more focused on social manipulation and her decisions are completely based on how she feels (murdering Appledusk, Frecklewish and Ravenwing because she feels hurt and betrayed; manipulating Crookedstar because she feels an intense hate for him being related to Appledusk, attacking Sandstorm because she's jealous she has everything she ever wanted). I can see Ni too and I'm honestly not so sure if Mapleshade would be more of an ENFJ or an INFJ. She seems to be more focused on her ideals, visions and insights rather than in social harmony, which may suggest Ni dom instead of Fe dom. Her tunnel-visioned view could be a Ni-Ti loop. I think that after the traumatic event she went through, she could have ignored her Fe once she believes everyone has wronged her and that Thunderclan must pay.
