He had love for humankind and hoped to create a better future for all(Ni), but as a Fe dom, the Fe needed something in return. The people and his followers failed him, driving him completely crazy. The Fe craves for understanding, and therefore resulting in him seeing Xielian as another version of himself and trying everything to convert him. This whole story is basically a tale of Ni and Fe destroying and eventually saving people. Amazing, considering the author is not even a FeNi user imo. (I think she is ENFP.)The author seems so determined in making ENFJs villains of the story lol
