Joel Miller MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Joel Miller? Joel Miller is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sx/sp - 682 in Enneagram, RCOEN in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.

On a normal day, Joel is able to use all of his functions properly, even his inferior Ne. He is a very well-developed ISTJ with some unhealthy habits. However, this game is not a normal day for Joel. It shows how Joel is when he is under stress and can only use his dominant Si without his other functions. Because of his constant tendency to beat himself up for losses that he blames himself for (usually unfairly), he never lets people bring up people whom he grew to care for because he does not want to take the time to grieve them. He also refuses to allow himself to develop any emotional attachments because all he can think about is keeping himself alive and views others as either tools or obstacles (at first). He just starts thinking like a hardened survivor with no humanity in him. However, Joel starts using his functions normally again when he gets closer to Ellie. But then when he finds out the Fireflies intend to kill her and use her to make a cure, his Ne grip kicks in. He loses grip on reality and gets caught up in the vision of losing another daughter to the world, and acts off of a pipe dream of getting a second chance at being a dad. His tertiary Fi leads him to become uncharacteristically emotional about the whole thing, so he acts out on an instinctual vision. In other words, as an unhealthy ENFP.
