I love how it was shown in anime, how Chouji faces his darkness, through visual metaphors in his mind. And how he finally gets out of state of being lost after entering this comfortable trance, INFP-ish state of consciousness, where he wasn’t capable of suppressing his feelings, thoughts and memories anymore. Walking on glass, instead of Earth – his head being too high in the skies, refusing to be serious about everything, except his goals and his dedication to “happiness of obtaining the most freedom”, leading him to never see himself from “a mirror” of other people, consequently losing everyone around and their love and support. Drowning – hidden depression, tiredness from not understanding what’s going on “not right”, losing control of his life and band, cause his theories about leadership didn’t match with boring reality of loneliness at the top. Who was actually ruling the band, while their leader went insane and refused the justice, norms of relationships between people. That’s also him realising how he needs not only himself, but everyone else around (and Togame..), to finally be satisfied. And Umemiya being represented with “light”, which brings Chouji out of darkness of lostness, and acting as a lowkey understanding father of an emotionally unstable mad child, that’s poetic. 7w6 vs 3w2 dynamic.
