E3?? the defense mechanism of isolation fits Evie perfectly, she isolated her children from herself in order to turn off all emotions she had towards them, and then retreated into her solitary home - Warner & the rest of the supreme children knew the least about Oceania because Evie was extremely reclusive, always focusing on projects & how to improve the Reestablishment. Fives are also perfectionists, especially when it comes to their work, and you can see this when she examines Juliette when she takes her captive in book 5 - being critical of her strength, her relationship with her friends/Warner, and her hair. i don’t see any Deceit in Evie, she works on the sidelines, engineering Emmaline to control the world. Greed/Avarice fits her more, she desires the knowledge to control her life & others by using her own children to reshape the world.
