What personality type is Shen Qingqiu? Shen Qingqiu is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/so - 592 in Enneagram, RCUEI in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.
Why 9w8? He is never really agreeable. And when does he fear loss or separation? His plan to stay alive literally passes through losing everything he has and he doesn't care about it. He literally detached himself of everything for that plan. Sounds very much like a 5. His Fe is good but that doesn't mean he is a core 9. If he was a 9 he wouldn't bother going out of his way so many times to set goals or make improvements (not talking about the times where the system makes him do it. There are several times where he does things that go against his peaceful environment out of his own will). 9s are easy going, even with a wing 8. They like to avoid problems and confrontations, which is not exactly what SQQ does. I think he is a very stereotypical 5w6, actually. He wants to be knowledgable and support everyone with his knowledge. He keeps saying so in the novel; things like "I don't have enough information, I need to gather more information". He panics a little whenever he doesn't know things. He keeps his composture but inside he is feeling troubled by the lack of knowledge (fix 9 in action: when the desires of the core are being compromised, the person relies on his second fix first). I do think he has a strong 9 fix but he seems to be moved by fear (head triad) and not so much by anger (gut triad). His motivation is the fear of not being able to be competent enough. He might seem like he has a wing 8 because he is a very healthy 5 who is constantly intrigating into 8. And this is exactly how healthy 5s behave: they are decisive and assertive. And sp 9s are the least assertive of all the 9s (even with a w8), I really don't get how you see him as a sp 9. I have gathered 2 quotes that I think are useful to my argument: "This was a rare opportunity for him to show off in front of his disciple. Shen Qingqiu was happy enough to overturn the heavens." (Chapter 25) - there are other instances where he mentions how much he enjoys to show off his knowledge but I only took notice of this one. Fives take a lot of pride in showing off their knowledge and when they feel knowledgable/competent, it's like they've reached nirvana. "For Shen Qingqiu to attempt to comfort himself with these words, there must be **** in his brains! He wasn’t some sort of Stockholm syndrome patient, feeling deep gratitude for being fattened in captivity. Don’t you understand, you need to bring about a fortunate lifestyle yourself, not by relying on others’ charity?!" (Chapter 55) - the strongest argument against 9, in my opinion. He hates accomodating and he can't stand the idea of having to rely on others (a 5 at its best). Trying to protect his independency so strongly is a 5 core trait, not a 9 one.

Shen Qingqiu (沈清秋 Shěn Qīngqiū) is the protagonist of The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System. Originally he was a 21st century web-novel nerd named Shen Yuan (沈垣 Shěn Yuán) who died due to food-related incidents. He transmigrated into the body of Shen Qingqiu, Lord of Qing Jing Peak and master of Luo Binghe, the protagonist of Proud Immortal Demon Way.
