What personality type is Elrond? Elrond is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - sp/so - 125 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.
Elrond is much more empathetic and understanding than Galadriel, and he has a much broader perspective on the impact of their actions on the future of their species (Healthy Ni DOM). As a member of the Dwarf culture, he adopts all the norms required of him (AUX Fe). He doesn't object to the Dwarfs' prejudice against elves, and he even loses on purpose in a competition so that Durin can be portrayed as the victor, knowing this will win over the hearts of his fellow dwarfs (amazing use of Healthy AUX Fe). Elrond is a good representation of an Elf who takes into account the perspectives of others, seeks to advance the common good, and is analytical and introspective because he is an IFJ. He is thoughtful and deliberate in the service of what he believes is best for everyone involved in the long run, and he is both accommodating and emotionally distant enough to put everyone's needs before his own (hence, he ultimately tries to help the Elves survive while also respecting the wishes of the dwarves).
