Oliver Wood MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Oliver Wood? Oliver Wood is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w2 - sp/sx - 351 in Enneagram, SLOEN in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.

Here are the reasons, why I consider Oliver Wood to be an ENTJ. The most visible cognitive functions about him are Te and Se. His Ni comes clearly in the second book where he makes a detailed and original plan regarding how to win the house cup that year. He also plans in advance and books the grounds for Gryffindor practice (Te-Ni). His Se is obviously in the display as a quidditch player. Finally, he exhibits not the ESTJ sense of strictness and responsibility, but the ENTJ drive of crushing the competition and winning at all costs. Here is one quote by him in book 3. "I don't care about Harry's bones being broken provided he catches the snitch first" (Inferior Fi). He was just unable to understand why Mcgonagall screamed at him for saying that. I don't see even an ounce of traditionalism or love for rules in him (Si). He is just about winning and winning alone by careful planning and brilliant execution (Te-Ni). Just compare his character to rule loving authoritarians in the Harry Potter series such as Hermione and McGonagall. ESTJ and ISTJ respectively. It is not an intuitive bias, as I myself have typed a number of important fictional characters as Sensors.

Biography

Oliver Wood (born c. 1975 or 1976) was a wizard who was the Keeper and Captain for the Gryffindor Quidditch team during his time as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which he attended from 1987 to 1994. Wood was described as an intensely driven, competitive personality. He was singularly focused and determined to creating the best Quidditch team in the school. His ambition and dedication to the sport was such that he forced his players to train relentlessly, including early morning starts and all-weather training. Wood's obsession with winning occasionally became somewhat maniacal. Wood was remarkably humble concerning his own skill, putting the team's success down to the other members of the team. He would often be more concerned about his teammates than himself, like urging them to eat breakfast before a match, yet touching nothing himself. He was also extremely loyal to Gryffindor and saw the success of the Gryffindor team as Gryffindor House's success.
