Herbert von Karajan MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Herbert von Karajan? Herbert von Karajan is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - sp/so - 584 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
An undoubted INTJ, but either an 8w9 or 8w7 due to his infamous "my way or the highway" mentality of conducting the Berlin Philharmonic. He had little or no time or any other interpretation other than his own. Watch all the videos produced by the Berlin Philharmonic in the 1970s-80s, the camera is centered on Karajan and the music HE seems to be producing with his hands, on his HIS interpretation. Personally, I think this streamlined the orchestra to the point that it became and perhaps remains the greatest in the world. I would lean towards 8w7 due to his maverick lifestyle and fondness for fine homes, yachts, and cars, but I can accept 8w9 as reasonable.
Biography
Herbert von Karajan (German: [ˈhɛɐbɛɐt fɔn ˈkaraˌjan]); born Heribert Ritter von Karajan; 5 April 1908 – 16 July 1989) was an Austrian conductor. He was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 35 years. During the Nazi era, he debuted at the Salzburg festival, with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and during the Second World War he conducted at the Berlin State Opera. Generally regarded as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, he was a controversial but dominant figure in European classical music from the mid-1950s until his death. Part of the reason for this was the large number of recordings he made and their prominence during his lifetime. By one estimate he was the top-selling classical music recording artist of all time, having sold an estimated 200 million records.
