I love how grounded in reality she is all while totally being wild and unrealistic too which is definitely dominant Se. In Rue's narration of Maddy realizing from a young age there are two types of people the ones who get pedicures and the ones who give pedicures to others like her mom and how much she doesn't want to be like her. I think it's so sad that Maddy has no real ambitions outside of her relationship with Nate, like Rue narrates she enjoys doing nothing and her biggest fear is ending up like her mom in a dysfunctional relationship. But the thing is since she's so afraid of that she's willing to accept the abuse from Nate because the way she sees it is that anything is better than what her parents have. She ends up being her mom because she's scared not because of the abuse but that Nate can do anything to her and she'll still love him. I also think her dominant Se shows in her cheerleading, her impulsive behavior like losing her virginity at 14 to a 40 year old stranger while on vacation, her entire behavior at the chili cook off, and her watching porn for practice, her materialism, and the fact that Sharon Stone's character from Casino (who is a drug addict, gold digger, wife of a mobster) is her spirit animal. Maddy is the literal embodiment of every girl Lana Del Rey sings about, she is impulsive, emotionally traumatized, and misunderstood, she holds onto her relationship with Nate because she views it as the only escape from her crummy home life. The entire scene when she's crying and fighting with her mom over Nate while her dad's passed out drunk in his recliner was so raw and revealed a lot of depth to her character. She says Nate would kill for her and she would do the same for him and that who else is gonna love her like that mentality is so present which makes her character even more tragic because she tries to be a boss bitch but is being micromanaged by everyone in her life.
