As an INFP astronomer, it peeves the living hell out of me to see so many nimrods out there saying you can't succeed in science if you're Ti blind/Ti trickster. Ti is my freaking demon function, and I function in science just fine. People who say you need Ti to function in science don't understand the scientific method at all. It's much more of a Te process than it is a Ti one. Ti likes theory and ideas, which is also important of course, but often ignored are the people who use experimentation and data, which is very much a Te process, to prove those theories correct. Listening to Michio Kaku speak, there is simply no way you can convince me that he isn't an ENF type. He's such an idealist, and much of his best work is focused on how science and technology relate to the human experience and the future of our species. Outside of science, he's also been known to be an anti-nuclear activist, and was even openly critical of the plutonium used on the Cassini-Huygens space probe despite likely knowing full well why it was necessary, showing that his Fi is higher on his function stack than his Te. Remember folks, every type has a thinking function somewhere. Every type has the capacity to be logical. Honestly, what is more important than your MBTI type is your Big Five Inquisitiveness.

Michio Kaku (born 24 January 1947) is an American theoretical physicist, futurist, and popularizer of science. He is professor of theoretical physics in the City College of New York and CUNY Graduate Center. Kaku has written several books about physics and related topics, has made frequent appearances on radio, television, and film, and writes online blogs and articles.
